In 1870, Russian craftsman Peter Carl Fabergé was the jeweler to the last two czars of the Romanov family from 1886 – 1917, during which time he created intricate objects ranging from Imperial Eggs, clocks, detailed jeweled and enameled boxes and frames and playful animals. This lovely jewelry is based on a jeweled flower that is part of the museum’s collection. The exquisitely detailed original is enhanced with precious jewels, stones and gold and exemplifies the imaginative objects created by the House of Fabergé for its imperial patrons.
